There is a new study of the benefits of doulas out.
It has some pretty impressive results.
Of interest to me regarding cesareans:
Mom’s with doula’s had a 13.4% cesarean rate vs 25% of moms without doulas.
Mom’s who were induced also had a lower cesarean rate than those without a doula.

I am glad I do not have a mom due right now. B has been sick since Thursday. I brought him in today and he has an ear infection and a throat infection. No wonder he has been so miserable. We got some medication, so hopefully he will be better soon.

It is reading nurses blogs that make me see how stressful their jobs are. How understaffed many hospitals are. How that can effect the care mother’s receive there. It reinforces my belief that for low risk moms, the best care you can get is from a well trained midwife who trusts birth at home.
